Lausanne

Padel coach in Lausanne

Lausanne is a city built on a slope, and that shapes coaching here more than anything else. Sessions run from the lakeside at Ouchy and the sports grounds at Vidy up through Montchoisi to Chalet-à-Gobet at around 870 metres — which in practice means two seasons rather than one. Down by the water the season stretches from spring well into autumn; up above the city, conditions and facilities carry you through the months when the lakeside is unusable.

The city also has an unusually international population for its size, between the university, the EPFL and the sporting bodies headquartered here. Most of our coaches in Lausanne work in French and English, and a good number in German — tell us in the notes which you prefer and we will take it into account when we arrange your session.

Padel

Why padel rewards coaching early

Padel looks like easy tennis for about twenty minutes, and then the walls start deciding points. Almost everyone who picks it up socially plateaus at the same place: they keep playing it as tennis. An hour of coaching on the back wall, the lob and where to stand as a pair changes more than a month of matches.

Court and equipment

Court hire is arranged as part of the session and included in the price. Rackets are heavier and shorter than tennis rackets — bring your own if you have one, and if not, say so when you book and your coach will bring a spare.

Common questions

Do I need to have played tennis?

No, and it is not necessarily an advantage. Tennis players often have to unlearn a full swing before they improve at padel.

Can I book for two of us?

Yes — choose the two-person session. Padel is a doubles game, so coaching a pair together generally works better than coaching one of you alone.

Is the court included?

Yes. Court hire is arranged with the session and included in the price you see.

What if we are four?

Email us and we will quote it. Four players with one coach is a different kind of session and we price it separately.
